A105 sorf flanges are produced by the majority of steel companies. The pipe or fitting is positioned away from the flange when sorf flange welding is performed. The SORF flange’s inner diameter is somewhat bigger than the pipe’s outer diameter. It is the grade of carbon steel that is most frequently used to make forge piping components.
Carbon steel A105 flanges are designed to cover seamless forged carbon steel piping components that are intended for use in ambient and high-temperature pressure systems.Asmesa 105 flange material does not require heat treatment, with the exception of flanges of unusual design where the design temperature or pressure is unknown, items exceeding 4″ NPS, and flanges above Class 300.
A105 blind flanges are forged at temperatures ranging from 1,700°F to 2,200°F, and then they are quenched and tempered.
A105 weld neck flange forged pieces are heated to a temperature of 1,550°F to 1,700°F after being allowed to cool to below 1,000°F. It then cools slowly in the furnace.
A105 lap joint flanges are typically used with stub end fittings, sliding straight over the pipe. A pipe can freely revolve around the stub end once it has been welded to the Lap Joint flange. It is widely utilised in applications that require regular disassembly.
At an 850F temperature, a105 galvanised flange is immersed in molten zinc. Thin layers of zinc alloys are created during this process when molten zinc reacts with the steel. Comparing these layers to more conventional techniques, the barrier they create offers remarkable corrosion resistance. This helps to prolong each flange’s life and boost productivity.

Astm A105 Flange Standard
Forged carbon steel flanges and pipework components for use in pressure systems at ambient and higher temperatures are covered by ASTM A105. It also includes valves, pipe fittings, and similar components. Tube sheets and empty round and hollow cylindrical forgings for pressure vessel shells are not covered by this specification.
