ASTM B335 UNS N10665 rod is a solid solution strengthened nickel molybdenum alloy which provide significant resistance to conditions such as hydrogen chloride gas, sulfuric, phosphoric and acetic acid.
Molybdenum is main alloying element which offers exceptional corrosion resistance to low conditions. It can be used in the as-welded condition because in weld heat-affected zone it resists formation of grain-boundary carbide precipitate.
It provide excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all temperature and concentration. In additions, it provide excellent resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking and to knife-line and heat-affected zone attack. It offer resistance to pure sulfuric acid and to various non-oxidizing acids.
Hastelloy b2 round bar Properties
- It contain chemical with minimum iron and chromium content which help to delay the formation of ordered -phase Ni4MoIt has a significant corrosion resistance to reducing environments
- It provides good chloride-induced stress-corrosion cracking resistance

What is equivalent to Alloy B2 square bar?
Hastelloy B2 bar is equivalent to Hastelloy C22 or C276 alloys. It can be use in place if there is need of replacement.
Is Nickel b2 flat bar better than Inconel?
Nickel b2 flat bar and Inconel are both specially design to perform well in high temperature application. But when it come to differentiating them than the corrosion resistance properties must be considered.
So both the alloy offer comparable corrosion-resisting benefit but Inconel slightly has advantage when it is use in oxidizing applications. On the contrary, as Hastelloy has more molybdenum it offer better performance when it is defecated to reducing corrosion.
