ASTM B473 UNS N08020 round bar is austenitic nickel iron chromium base super alloy. It offers pitting and crevice corrosion resistance with addition of copper and molybdenum.
It is also balanced with columbium to minimize carbide precipitation while welding. It falls between stainless and nickel categories as it contains both the characteristics.
It is fabricated for maximum acid attack resistance and to exhibit superior stress corrosion cracking resistance in boiling 20 – 40 percent sulfuric acid. It also has excellent general corrosion resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking and to sulfuric acid.
It provide good mechanical properties at atmospheric and elevated temperature, up to 930°F and it is easily fabricate by using standard technique.
