Titanium Grade 5 Round Bar is an alpha-beta titanium alloy with a high strength to weight ratio and excellent corrosion resistance. It is one of the often used titanium alloys and it is applied in a wide range of applications where excellent corrosion resistance and low density are necessary such as aerospace industries and biochemical applications.
Increased use of ti-6al-4v round bar as biomaterials is occurring due to its superior biocompatibility, lower modulus, and enhanced corrosion resistance when compared to more standard stainless steels and cobalt-based alloys.
titanium grade 5 astm b348 bar is resistant to general corrosion but may be quickly attacked by environments that can cause breakdown of the protective oxide layer including hydrofluoric, hydrochloric, sulfuric and phosphoric acids.
grade 5 titanium hex barhas a very low thermal conductivity at room temperature 6.7 – 7.5 W/m·K which contributes relatively poor machinability. It is vulnerable to cold dwell fatigue. It is alloyed with small amounts of aluminum and vanadium which is typically 6 % and 4 % respectively, by weight.

The microstructure will differ significantly depending on the exact heat treatment and method of processing. Three common heat treatment processes are mill and duplex annealing, and solution treating and aging.
