ASTM A182 F304L

ASTM A182 Gr F304L material is a specification for forged stainless steel pipe flange for high-temperature service. It is a forging material which is used to manufacture bare forging or forged and machined products which involves application for high temperature service.  ASTM A182 F304L is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel. It is also referred by its old name 18/8 which is derived from the nominal composition of 304L stainless steel being 18% chromium and 8% nickel. It is a low carbon version of stainless steel 304. Stainless Steel 304L Flanges is a method of connecting pipes, pumps, valves, and other tool to form a piping system. It can be preferably used in environments sufficiently corrosive to cause intergranular corrosion of welds and heat-affected zones on susceptible alloys. 304L Stainless Steel Flanges provides good oxidation resistance in intermittent service to 1600°F and in continuous service to 1690°F. It can be usually welded or screwed.

UNS S30403 Slip On Flange is mainly a ring that is put over the pipe end, with the flange face expanding from the end of the pipe by enough distance to apply a weld bead on the inside diameter.
