Stainless Steel 304 Round Bar

304 Stainless Steel Round Bar is measured across the diameter. It is a long cylindrical metal bar stock that has many commercial and industrial applications. It is the most common stainless steel round bar. As the main non-iron constituents it contains both chromium and nickel metals. It is an austenitic stainless steel which is less electrically and thermally conductive than carbon steel and is essentially-magnetic but less magnetic than steel.

It is easy to shape, easy to weld, cut, form and machine with the proper knowledge and equipment.For more severe corrosion conditions, it is commonly replaced by stainless steel 316, when stainless steel 304 is too sensitive to pitting or crevice corrosion by chlorides or general corrosion in acidic applications.
