Product Overview

Om Export India Pvt Ltd is a premier manufacturer, stockist, and global exporter of high-performance Stainless Steel 317L Pipes and Tubes (ASTM A312 TP317L / UNS S31703 / Werkstoff 1.4438). Grade 317L is a high-alloy, low-carbon austenitic stainless steel engineered with 18.0% to 20.0% Chromium, 11.0% to 15.0% Nickel, and an elevated 3.0% to 4.0% Molybdenum content. The significantly enhanced molybdenum and chromium formulation provides superior pitting resistance, higher crevice corrosion protection, and improved defense against chemical attack from sulfuric, phosphoric, and organic acids compared to standard 316/316L grades.

With an extra-low carbon limit (≤ 0.030% C), SS 317L is immune to intergranular chromium-carbide precipitation during fusion welding, eliminating the necessity for post-weld solution annealing in process plant fabrication. Manufactured strictly in compliance with ASTM A312, ASTM A213, ASTM A269, and ASME Section II pressure vessel codes, our SS 317L seamless and welded piping systems deliver high tensile strength (minimum 515 MPa / 75 ksi) and exceptional ductility (elongation ≥ 35%). These pipes and tubes provide reliable performance across flue gas desulfurization (FGD) scrubbers, pulp and paper chlorination stages, dye vats, chemical tankers, and high-chloride marine condenser systems.

  • Elevated Molybdenum Resistance: Formulated with 3.0%–4.0% Mo to deliver a high PREN value (≥ 29–31), resisting localized halide attack in marine and industrial acid environments.
  • Low-Carbon Sensitization Defense: Restricted carbon (≤ 0.030% C) prevents intergranular corrosion in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) of welded pipe connections.
  • Chemical & Scrubber Suitability: Resists boiling solutions of acetic, formic, citric, and sulfurous acids, making it an optimal selection for pollution control scrubbers and petrochemical reboilers.

Key Features

  • High Pitting Resistance Equivalent: 3%–4% Molybdenum gives a PREN of 29–31, preventing localized pitting in high-chloride solutions.
  • Intergranular Corrosion Resistance: Ultra-low carbon level (≤ 0.030% C) eliminates carbide sensitization in welded joints.
  • Acid Corrosion Durability: Exceptional resistance to phosphoric, sulfurous, acetic, and formic acids across varying temperatures.
  • Formability & Ductility: High elongation (≥35%) enables cold bending, expansion into tubesheets, flanging, and precision forming.
  • Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR) Certified: Approved under Form III-A and III-D for high-temperature and high-pressure steam boiler installations.
  • Clean Surface Finishes: Supplied in pickled & passivated, bright annealed (BA), electropolished, and mechanical polish (up to 600 Grit).
